Tougher DPA

Seems that following the loss of records of 25m British citizens that there is an urgent need to toughen the DPA ;-) Apparently the police are still looking for the lost discs, and as of yet have not seen any evidence of fraud pertaining to the lost personal records. The DPA will provide stronger penalties are in addition to new powers for the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to conduct spot-checks on government departments’ processing of personal data.
