Really Karen, you've got to keep up with these things :-)
It now stands at four breaks. When they've finished with the first two off Alexandria they can go and fix the 2 around the corner.
Here is a fascinating (and long) 1996 article from Wired about the history of undersea cables and how they are laid out. It concentrates on FLAG, one of the cables cut last week.
